Can you share the background of the business?
My business journey started in 2013 while I was still studying at the International Islamic University Malaysia, selling gadget products like power banks, which were trending at that time. I started the business online and at various events, sourcing supplies from local suppliers before switching to suppliers from China.
In 2015, after graduating, I opened a small shop in Kota Tinggi, and with increasing demand and low competition, I was able to expand the business. In 2016, I opened a larger shop lot in Kota Tinggi, followed by a second branch in Bandar Baru Uda, Johor Bahru in 2017, and continued opening one new branch each year until 2020.

What makes your product unique?
The uniqueness of our business lies in the 24-hour phone repair service, which is provided by a third party who rents space within our store.
Additionally, we offer long product warranties, with most of our products having a one-year warranty or more. Even for items as inexpensive as RM5, we still provide a one-year warranty, especially for electronic products.
How do you advertise your business?
We advertise our business by hosting promotional events every quarter, and currently, we focus on using TikTok. Before 2022, we relied heavily on Facebook, but since 2023, TikTok has become our main platform because the content on TikTok has been very helpful in promoting our business. For example, for an upcoming event in one or two weeks, namely a "buy two, get three free" promotion, our post had already gained nearly a million views. Our marketing department manages our social media, and in addition to that, we also market our gadget products through Shopee and TikTok Shop.

If you had one piece of advice for new entrepreneurs, what would it be?
My advice to new entrepreneurs is to grow your business gradually step by step or level by level. One of our biggest lessons was in 2021 when we opened a branch in Petaling Jaya and invested around RM6 million.
With a rental cost of RM120,000 per month, we finished utilising that amount within two years. It was a significant challenge because we also collaborated with F&B businesses and provided event spaces. The key takeaway is not to rush your plans, as moving too fast without proper readiness can lead to setbacks.
Business conditions constantly change, especially in the TikTok era, where trends can rise and fall quickly. Therefore, every decision in business should be carried out systematically and based on your current capacity.
