Bank Islam MoU with Sarawak Energy, SJPP to provide financing for vendors
Bank Islam Malaysia Bhd (Bank Islam) recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Sarawak Energy Bhd (SEB) and Syarikat Jaminan Pembiayaan Perniagaan Bhd (SJPP) to provide financing solutions for vendors listed under SEB’s Vendor Financing Programme.

Sarawak’s tax on aluminium product exports will erode Press Metal’s profits The Sarawak state government’s proposed one percent State Sales Tax (SST) on the exports of aluminium products starting from January 2020 will erode analysts’ financial year 2020-2021 (FY20-FY21) net profit forecasts for Press Metal Aluminium Holdings Bhd (Press Metal). Based on AmInvestment Bank Bhs’ (AmInvestment Bank) estimates, the new tax will cost Press Metal RM64 million and RM89 million in FY20-FY21.
GDB lands first East Malaysia contract worth RM213.3 million Construction services firm GDB Holdings Bhd (GDB) secured its first contract in East Malaysia to build the Hyatt Centric hotel in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah for a provisional contract value of RM213.3 million. The group, via its wholly owned subsidiary Grand Dynamic Builders Sdn Bhd, executed the letter of intent from Sunhill Ventures Sdn Bhd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Hap Seng Consolidated Bhd, to undertake construction works for the five-star Hyatt Centric hotel.
