Budget 2026: Boosts For Bumi Businesses

The community of Bumiputera entrepreneurs is set to receive additional fiscal support from Budget 2026. The following is a snapshot of the basket of goodies for Bumiputera business people:

  • RM40 million to accelerate the growth of high-potential Bumiputera companies.
  • Consolidation of Ekuinas and PHB under Yayasan Pelaburan Bumiputera (YPB), with Ekuinas to develop investee companies for potential listing under PNB, while PHB strengthens Bumiputera ownership in key real estate and businesses.
  • 50 acres of new Malay Reserve land to be added in Bandar Malaysia, with Petronas to begin development planning by end-2026.
  • Expansion of Subang Airport and its surrounding aerospace zone to be led by the Government and GLCs to prioritise national interests and Bumiputera participation.
  • KWAP to allocate RM20 million in microfinancing for retirees to support community entrepreneurship.
  • RM6 billion allocated to MARA, Yayasan Peneraju, and UiTM for Bumiputera education opportunities.
  • RM2.4 billion set aside for Bumiputera G1–G4 contractors; RM10 billion in government guarantees via SJPP for Bumiputera entrepreneurs.
  • SME Bank’s Jaguh Serantau programme to provide RM200 million in loans for export-driven Bumiputera SMEs.
  • MARA’s Entrepreneur Scaling Programme allocates RM100 million to support high-value startups.
  • CIDB to channel RM10 million to enhance competitiveness among young Bumiputera contractors.
  • VentureTECH receives RM105 million to boost Bumiputera equity in high-tech sectors, having invested in 31 tech firms with nine already expanding globally.
