Budget 2026: RM50 Billion In Loans, Guarantees To Power Malaysian Entrepreneurs

To further strengthen Malaysia’s entrepreneurial ecosystem and drive inclusive economic growth, the government will make RM50 billion in loans and guarantees available next year to support local businesses from high-value industries to grassroots enterprises.

When tabling Budget 2026 in Parliament, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said the financing package reflects Putrajaya’s commitment to empowering entrepreneurs and small businesses as key drivers of national growth and job creation.

The allocation includes RM2.5 billion in microfinancing, to be channelled through Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN) and TEKUN Nasional, targeting micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) that form the backbone of Malaysia’s economy.

“To further enhance access to credit, the government will also raise the guarantee ceiling under Syarikat Jaminan Pembiayaan Perniagaan (SJPP) from RM20 billion to RM30 billion.

“The increased ceiling will allow more companies, particularly those in high-value sectors, to secure the financing they need to expand and innovate. SJPP’s scope will also be expanded to include micro-entrepreneurs, ensuring that no one is left behind in our pursuit of shared prosperity,” Anwar said.

He added that in a move to strengthen the cooperative sector’s role in local economic development, the Malaysian Cooperative Commission will receive RM50 million in dedicated financing to help cooperative enterprises scale operations and improve competitiveness.
