EXIM Bank, MATRADE Engage Mid-Tier Companies, Exporters In Sarawak To Discuss Opportunities

Export-Import Bank of Malaysia Berhad (EXIM Bank) and MATRADE had a marketing engagement session with MATRADE’s Mid-Tier Companies and exporters in Kuching, Sarawak recently to discuss trade opportunities and share the Bank’s Go-Export Financing Programme.

EXIM Bank’s President and Chief Executive Officer Arshad Ismail said: “It was a great opportunity to meet the business community in Sarawak, as the state is set to thrive in the coming years with businesses booming. The Bank is ready to assist these businesses with its new financing programme, “EXIM Go-Export” and also its trade and credit takaful solutions to meet their growing needs.”

EXIM GO-Export Financing Programme comprises three products known as EXIM Go-SMExport, Go-Export ACE, and Go-Export GreenTech and was developed to empower SMEs and corporate clients to grow their business, obtain funds for cashflow requirements, or expand in strategic green-tech and other tech sectors.

The tailor-made banking solutions prioritise the needs of customers and ensure the Bank’s offerings align with their specific exporting business requirements.

MATRADE also shared about its export promotion, Exporters Development Programme, trade and market intelligence, as well as its trade advisory services. Also present at the session were the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA), who talked about opportunities in new growth areas and growth in the state, as well as its competitive investment incentives, while Syarikat Jaminan Pembiayaan Perniagaan (SJPP) expounded on government guarantee schemes for SMEs and Mid-Sized Companies (MSCs).

In conjunction with the event, the Bank also paid a courtesy visit to Datuk Amar Haji Awang Tengah Ali Hasan, Sarawak Deputy Premier, Second Minister for Natural Resources and Urban Development and Minister for International Trade and Investment.

During the meeting, the Bank discussed its mandate, products offering and market expansion for Sarawak exporters into new territories, while the Deputy Premier talked on the latest development on the state’s economic direction and strategic initiative, as well as export promotion and export related activities.
