MBSB Bank launches branch in Kota Bharu

KOTA BHARU, March 9 (Bernama) -- MBSB Bank Bhd today officially launched its 47th branch on Jalan Sultan Yahya Petra here.

Its chief strategy officer Datuk Azlan Shahrim said despite the rise of digital banking, the opening of its Kota Bharu branch was important as some customers preferred to manage their finances interactively and meet face-to-face for transactions requiring detailed guidance.

“The branch serves as a focal point for the local community, especially in Kota Bharu.

“Furthermore, customers can learn more about Primewin-i savings and current accounts which offer attractive prizes, including cash, luxury cars, holiday packages and many more through the 'Simpan Berganda Menang Bergaya 2.0' campaign, which runs until May 31, 2023,” he told the media after launching the branch today.

Azlan said the bank was committed to serving the community not only through its banking products but also via various corporate social responsibility programmes.

He noted that the bank donated basic food items through its “Box of Care” programme to 300 residents in the Kota Bharu People's Housing Programme (PPR) area in December last year, and to 150 flood victims in Kota Bharu, Pasir Puteh and Pasir Mas districts in January this year.

"This proves that we also place a great emphasis on community service programmes, as we go to the ground to help the less fortunate and needy," he said.

Saying MBSB Bank’s services were not limited to just banking services such as withdrawals and deposits, Azlan invited small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to take advantage of its financing for capital expenditure, operating expenses and working capital.

He said through the bank, SME businesses could also apply for the PEMULIH (National People's Well-being and Economic Recovery Package) Government Guarantee Scheme offered by Syarikat Jaminan Pembayaran Perniagaan Bhd, which provides facilities for new financing, restructuring and extension of current financing, and additional working capital to revitalise their businesses.

The bank also offers Personal Financing-i with a financing amount of up to RM400,000 and a financing tenure of up to 10 years, in addition to the Term Deposit-i product which offers competitive fixed rates of up to 4.30 per cent per annum, he said.

MBSB Bank is a full-fledged Islamic banking institution in Malaysia that provides shariah-compliant banking facilities to retail and corporate customers.
